This page was born entirely from my enjoyment of reading other people's now pages, media digests, and movie logbooks. This is a collection of things I'm working on and doing right now in work and life.

Media Digest

Watching

  • Widow’s Bay - This show is really going off the rails, in a good way. Perfect horror for weenies (aka me) type show.
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - Part of our mini-Marvel rewatch ahead of Doomsday. I like this one a lot, though I tend to love the underrated ones. Its probably some stubborness, but I do think they’re great.
  • The Marvels - See above. I mean c’mon they go to a disney MUSICAL planet. That is unfortunatly not the average Marvel fan’s sense of humor, but it is mine.

Reading

  • Saga - I love this series so much. I get the volume sets and they just came out with the 4th one, so doing a re-read of the series which I like to do when each book comes out (though it’s starting to turn into a Marvel-level effort to get through all of them each time.)

What have I been up to

  • Attended a Data Art workshop with the North Cascades Institute with artist Jill Pelto leading. Such a beautiful and great day up at Mount Baker with a sobering topic of glacial changes on the North Cascades. It has inspired me to dig into some more data art I think.

Watching

  • Silo Season 3 - Did anyone catch the end of this? Wow. Waiting until next year will be hard
  • Widow’s Bay - So many people reccomended this one and they were so right. Also as someone who loves Parks and Rec, having a writer on the show with that style of humor is just Chefs Kiss
  • Parks and Rec - It seemed only right that these should go hand-in-hand
  • Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - Introduced this to a friend. It has no business being as good as it is. The fun part for D&D nerds is that it feels like a campaign. Ridiculous antics included.
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - Doing a small Marvel rewatch (it’s getting very difficult to do a full run) ahead of Doomsday. I’m honestly pretty easy to please when it comes to Marvel movies, but this one is so good.
  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Gotta catch up on all the Multiverse stuff before the collapse it. Sam Raimi manages to direct a real looney toons of a movie but I don’t hate it.
  • Black Widow - this movie is very underrated and it introduces Florence Pugh’s Yelena which maybe is my favorite Marvel character?
  • Spider Man Brand New Day - I thought this was a good watch. It tackled some themes of isolation well though it never got too deep. Still a good watch in the Marvel lineup!
  • The Wrong Girls - This movie was so weird, and I’m here for it. Though honestly any movie where Kate McKinnon is in it with an accent, no matter how small, I’m here for

Making

  • Copa Crop - I love Britt’s designs and when I saw she was designing a summer top for Flock Fiber Festival I knew I had to support.
  • Daphne Shawl - I snagged this kit from Ikigai Fiber at Flock Fiber festival. Now normally I like to pick out my own colors for a pattern, but this is the second year in a row I bought one of their kits as is because I loved the colors so much. What can I say, this company has very similar color taste to mine.

Listening

  • Critial Role: Campaign Two: The Mighty Nein - the cast is so funny to watch live, however I love listening to Critical Role in podcast format. Its like having an audio book that just goes on for a verrry long time. I can’t wait for the new show that’s coming out.

Playing

  • Super Mario RPG - Remastered - Finally got around to this remastered version of my favorite childhood game and it checked all the nostalgia boxes.
  • South of Midnight - An absolutly gorgeous game with a great soundtrack. Combat might be a little repetative if that’s your thing, and if you don’t like traversing games this one’s REALLY not for you. But even not it’s such a beautiful game it could be worth it anyway.

Reading

What have I been up to

  • Went to Flock Fiber Festival 2026, someone described it as ComicCon for fiber folks and I support that destintion. Enjoyed seeing friends in the fiber space and picked up some new goodies for projects
  • Completed 1.5 of my 3 runs at the Ragnar Trail Run up in Crystal Mountain this year. Truth be told between being undertrained, a lot of confusion this year due to some internal Ragnar drama, and forgetting I have a slight debilitating fear of heights before I head out on a night run on a mountain, this wasn’t my best race by any means. That said had a great time camping with friends and getting some movement in so the weekend wasn’t a total bust.

Watching

  • Silo Season 3 - I love a good dystopian future show. So glad this one is back
  • Derry Girls - This one has been on the list for quite some time, and after watching How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, it seemed only fitting to visit this one next.
  • Say Nothing - The much more serious follow up to Derry Girls.
  • Disclosure Day - Not the best Spielberg movie I’ve ever seen but love the cast and still very entertaining to watch
  • Close Encounters of the Third Kind - Rented this shortly after watching Disclosure Day, just to get more Spielberg aliens in.
  • Parks and Rec - A classic that warrents a revesit every couple of years or so.

  • Continuing: Dave the Diver
  • Wheel World - You get to ride bikes! In a bike only world! And you have a skeleton friend! Just my kind of weird.
  • Super Mario RPG - One of my favorite games as a kid. I’ve been meaning to get to the remastered version for a while now and finally did.

Watching

  • Finished Show: Andor
  • Started Show: Running Point - my friend introduced me to this one and I’m enjoying it from the pure Parks and Rec/Office cameos alone.
  • Started Show: Margo’s Got Money Troubles - This one is falling a little flat for me despite some incredible acting and a great premise. I’m getting less dark comedy that this one is going for (and I love dark comedy!) and more drama but I might be in the minority there. I might need to try the book. The book is always better! (Though I have to reiterate - incredible acting).
  • Movie: Backrooms - Very visually cool, very weird, made me feel sliiiighly old that they’re calling this a new genre of “analogue horror” - but loved it none the less
  • Movie: I Love Boosters - Very visually cool, very weird (I’m sensing a theme here) and a wild ride. I loved it.
  • Movie: Rogue One - In particular we watched a fan re-edit of Rogue One that was cut to be like the next three episodes of Andor. It was pretty well done all things considered and it recut a lot of the Andor soundtrack to match it’s more moody vibe. It was a real lesson in how the soundtrack can really change things (like all those fan edits cutting trailers into horror movies or into rom coms.)

  • Finished: Caravan SandWitch - Loved this one so much
  • Finished: Dispatch - For those who have played I got the “Hollow Victory”. But now that I know there are 6 endings I might need another play through.
  • Dave the Diver - this one has been on my to play list for a while, and I’m glad I finally picked it up.

Reading

  • The Light Eaters - This book is WILD y’all. As an ameture science illustrationist (read: I like painting flowers) this book makes me want to go full botanist.

Watching

  • Movie: Porco Rosso - A Hayao Miyazaki film that had been on my list for a while and finally got around to. Really enjoyed this one though it’s got some odd moments (don’t they all).
  • Show: Andor - A show I reccomend to Star Wars fans and non-Star-Wars fans alike. Relevant show for relevant times.
  • Finished Show: How to Get to Heaven From Bellfast - Really unexpectedly enjoyed this one. The tone was so weird and funny which is right up my alley. Not sure if it stuck the landing for me but loved it overall. Not sure if it’ll get a season 2 but I’m for it.
  • Finished Show: Fallout Season 2 - I have not played this game but my husband has so I knew what I was in for. This show is ridiculous but I like it. Plus this season had more Kyle MacLachlan which I’m here for.

Playing

  • Caravan SandWitch - A cute game with a big message that makes me believe I could drive a big truck.
  • Dicey Dungeons - A silly little deck building rougelike. I have it on Apple Arcade so it’s been a little wind down game.
  • Dispatch - I’m loving this one. Playing it with my husband who doesn’t like as many of the actual gameplay mechanics as I do. But still super compelling story line and I love the blend of comic/tv show/video game. I want more of this.

  • I’ve been illustrating more - a lifelong love of mine that I’m finally sort of taking seriously. I started a site for it here: studio.cassigs.com
